Body, or Kaya in Buddhism, refers to the physical form that we live in. The body is the vessel that we use to experience the world through the five senses - sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell. The body is also closely connected to our emotions and thoughts, and is intimately involved in our experience of life. In meditation and mindfulness practices, we often focus on the body as a way to anchor ourselves in the present moment and become more aware of our thoughts and emotions. By paying attention to the physical sensations in the body, we can learn to observe our thoughts without getting caught up in them and develop a deeper understanding of how our body and mind are connected.
