About The living With Loss Circle
Loss can be painful and disorienting, and there are times when we all need comfort and care. These small, supportive groups are for anyone dealing with the grief that arises with the loss of a loved one or other difficult transitions.
The Living With Loss Circle provides a safe environment to share feelings of sorrow, loneliness, and regret while learning to live with greater peace and hope.
The Living with Loss Circle is a unique approach that draws upon the "circle of trust" which helps transform moments of suffering into a larger vision of wellbeing. This supportive and compassionate offering is based in contemplative practices such as mindfulness, meditation, deep listening, and heart-full reflection.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Companionship: We will journey together down this path of mystery, anger and sadness, to gain a clearer perspective of life as it is for us right at this moment. As we acknowledge what is felt and what is needed, we will relax into the mutual support and respect of fellow travelers.
- Authentic Support: Trusting that everyone has the right to be heard, and that everyone has the right to sit in quiet stillness, we will listen deeply to one another without advice giving or trying to "fix" the situation. Together we will cultivate a compassionate space to help us open into deeper insight and grace, and to lean into our inner wisdom courageously.
- Healing Journey: Throughout these eight gatherings we'll discover a growing steadiness and peace of heart and mind while traversing this rocky terrain called loss. Our stories will be witnessed, honored, and protected. We will carry with us the supportive aids of mindfulness, wisdom, compassion, and friendship so valuable to our healing and personal growth.
COME AS YOU ARE:
Anyone living with recent or past loss is welcome. Previous experience in mindfulness practice is not necessary.
WHEN AND HOW WE MEET
This group meets two Saturday mornings or two Wednesday evenings a month for eight consecutive sessions.
The following are the upcoming dates for the 2018 Late Fall/Early Winter Sessions:
Saturday Group | DATES: September 8 & 22, October 6 & 20, November 3 & 17, December 1 & 15 | TIME: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Wednesday Group | DATES: September 5 & 19, October 3, 17 & 31, November 14 & 28, December 12 | TIME: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
A CARING COMMITMENT
Having the ongoing support of others is precious. We are all healing together. Our presence holds a beautiful and profound potential for mutual healing. We ask that each participant make a heartfelt commitment to attend each session to the best of their ability.
MUTUAL SUPPORT AND GENEROSITY
Rooted In Mindfulness offers all of its programs in the spirit of mutual support and generosity to best meet the needs of our greater community. Similarly, The Living With Loss Circle is supported by the generosity of its participants.
You will have the opportunity prior to the first class to offer a tax-deductible donation (Dana) of $65, or whatever feels possible.
HOW TO REGISTER
Registration is required since each group is limited to ten participants.
We are accepting applications for the 2018 Fall-Winter Session.
