“We're uniting our experience, investigating the movement of the body, the sensations, the movements of the thoughts and the emotions, and taking good care of ourselves in this process.”
ABOUT 'MINDFUL YOGA: SELF-COMPASSION'
During this yoga practice, we give ourselves permission to discover the wisdom our bodies have to offer. When we quiet the mind and observe the body, we notice when self-judgement, ego, and comparison arise.
We allow ourselves to create space around our habits and notice the basic goodness at our core. With a free-flowing, nonjudgmental, compassion, we make friends with the body, heart, and mind.
WHAT WILL BE LEARNED:
Moments of peace, calm, and healing, can be found in gentle movement; observing the subtleties of breath, while completely letting go of striving to be any other way than what is true in each moment.
Self-Compassion Yoga is a practice that helps us become kinder to ourselves, reduce stress, strengthen and rejuvenate the body, and support peace of mind. Moving intentionally with breath gives us an opportunity to listen to our needs and cultivate a compassionate self-awareness. We may find that our practice flows off of our mats, into our daily lives.
STRUCTURE OF CLASS:
Mindful Yoga: Self-Compassion offers the opportunity to be guided through a meditation, setting an intention for our practice. Mindful breathing will help gather attention and develop concentration. Intentional yoga movement will connect the body and breath, warming the internal body helping create a greater sense of ease in the body, heart, and mind.
