About Private Mindfulness Sessions
WHAT ARE PRIVATE MINDFULNESS SESSIONS?
Private Mindfulness Sessions provide personalized support and guidance related to refining your meditation practice, integrating mindfulness into your daily life, and exploring the depth of traditional teachings.
While dialogue and questions are strongly encouraged in group sessions, there may be times when it is difficult to ask personal questions or explore sensitive topics while in a large group setting. Often, a topic may require more time than a group setting can provide.
WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?
Private teacher consultations are available to anyone who has already been introduced to mindfulness and meditation and is committed to maintaining/establishing a regular mindfulness and meditation practice. Priority is given to those who regularly attend RIM offerings.
Private Sessions provide support for those who are interested in a one-time meeting for a specific topic and for those looking for ongoing support in deepening their practice and understanding of traditional teachings.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Private Mindfulness Sessions are held within a supportive and contemplative format. These meetings are not therapy sessions. They do, however, provide an opportunity to speak honestly, sincerely, and intimately about one’s inner and outer life.
These sessions are intended to offer support for mindful living from the perspective of traditional teachings and practices. Each meeting includes formal meditation training, dialogue, and lessons. Additionally, your teacher will assign home practice and contemplations tailored to your practice and learning needs.
Private Sessions are intended to support you wherever you are in your mindfulness journey. Please, we ask that you schedule a meeting only if you are sincerely committed to your practice and learning.
Your teacher will provide you with personal practice and contemplations that will be discussed each meeting.
DURATION / FREQUENCY
Private Mindfulness Sessions are typically 30-60 minutes in length. The frequency of private sessions depends on the intention of the student. Frequency ranges from one-time session to weekly meetings. Together, you and your teacher will find a frequency that best meets your intentions and needs.
GENEROSITY / DANA
All offerings at Rooted In Mindfulness are given in the spirit of Dana - “Mutual support, generosity, and goodwill.” We ask that everyone participating in private sessions practice Dana. Your generosity supports the teacher's livelihood, your practice, and the RIM community as a whole.
Dana is a personal practice/ Please, give an amount that feels good/right to you each session.
