Learn about the Buddhist 8-Fold Path and how to integrate it into your practice and everyday life.

About this Community Group

RIM was formed to help one another reduce suffering and awaken to the innate human goodness, well-being, and freedom necessary to benefit the entire world.

All teaching at RIM draws in the essence of Buddhist wisdom in ways that are universal, relevant, informed by modern science, free of dogma, and appropriate for everyone. We refer to these traditional teachings and practices as the "Essential Dharma." The 8-Fold Path is at the heart of the Essential Dharma.

Over the next eight weeks, we will be exploring the eight-fold Path together.

We'll be using Gil Fronsdal's book, "Steps to Liberation," as an accessible introduction. We will read chapters 1-3 on our own time and discuss one path factor each week.

  • Week 1 (5/28): Right View
  • Week 2 (6/4): Right intention
  • Week 3 (6/11): Right Speech
  • Week 4 (6/18): Right Action
  • Week 5 (6/25): Right Livelihood
  • Week 6 (7/2): Right Effort
  • Week 7 (7/9): Right Mindfulness
  • Week 8 (7/16): Right Concentration
