Exploring the 10 Paramis

About this Community Group:

The “Mindful Happy Hour" invites people to come together and examine the Paramis, one at a time, over ten months.

Enjoy an evening of friendship, soft music, refreshment, and facilitated conversation. This “Mindful Happy Hour” is a social activity open for anyone interested in discovering how the Paramis can be cultivated and manifested in our lives.

About the 10 Paramis:

The Paramis, also called the 10 Perfections, represent ten wholesome qualities that lead toward the liberation of heart and mind. Traditional teachings encourage us to practice these perfections in everyday life.

The 10 Paramis can be a support and refuge, and any of these values can open a gateway to further health and well-being. They include:

  1. Generosity
  2. Morality
  3. Renunciation
  4. Wisdom
  5. Energy
  6. Patience
  7. Truth
  8. Energy/Effort
  9. Loving-kindness
  10. Equanimity
"Mindful Happy Hour" Format:

In a social atmosphere, we will put our investigative minds together and explore the following contemplations related to each Parami:

  • What is the Parami?
  • How can they be cultivated?
  • What are the obstacles for them to grow in our hearts and minds?
  • When can they be observed in life?
  • What happens when these qualities flavor life?
  • What are the felt senses of these qualities?

These are open community meetings; choose to come to one or to all! Feel free to a friend! RSVPs are appreciated.
