A Half-Day Workshop

Mindful Parenting

Explore a mindful approach to wise and compassionate parenting.

Mindful Parenting can be profoundly transformative, supportive, and healing for yourself as a parent, for the children you love, and your family as a whole.

This workshop explores key elements related to mindful parenting:

1. Kind and Compassionate Intentions

2. Mindful Presence

3. Wise and Skillful Response

We will explore these three elements through step-by-step lessons, meditative practices, and mindful contemplations. The approaches learned in this workshop can immediately be put into practice to benefit your entire family life.

Even simple changes can make a big difference. The degree of health, presence, goodwill, and skillfulness we bring to the joys and family challenges can profoundly shape the lives of ourselves and our children.

We all know how much of an impact one moment can have on our family’s well-being. When we really stop and consider, we may realize how precious these moments are. One unkind word or one understanding glance can make all the difference.

Imagine the impact of meeting even a few of these precious moments with greater composure, wisdom, and compassion rather than reactivity, confusion, and stress.

Mindfulness can help us skillfully meet family challenges, open our hearts and minds to new perspectives, and help us develop a more wholesome relationship with ourselves and our children.

This workshop provides an introduction to Mindful Parenting. When put into practice, research and parent-reported benefits include:
  • Better self-care as you care for your child.
  • Improved ability to respond with less reactivity and more skillfulness during times of parental stress.
  • Deeper empathy and compassion for yourself and your child.
  • Greater resilience and tolerance with difficult emotions within yourself and your child.
  • Increased acceptance and less judgment of yourself and your child.
  • An ability to recognize and resolve your own upbringing patterns as they arise during parenting.
  • A deeper connection and bond with your child.
  • Increased capacity to be more fully present for the joys and difficulties shared with your child.
  • Healthier relationships with situations that can’t be immediately changed.
  • A more holistic understanding of child behavior and emotional problems.
  • Greater mindfulness, compassion, and wellbeing within your family life to help reduce child behavioral and emotional problems and build a healthy future.
  • A greater sense of stability and safety for yourself and your child.

This course is appropriate for any parent, grandparent, or caregiver interested in fostering a more mindful and compassionate family life.
