Community Care Agreements

The RIM culture is deeply intentional, while holding an accepting, easygoing, and friendly attitude toward one another. We ask everyone who joins RIM to agree to the following four shared intentions. These four agreements foster a safe and supportive environment where everyone co-creates a shared refuge for deep learning, practice, and friendship.

1. Care for Yourself

Meditation and Mindful Living help us transform unhealthy patterns of heart and mind to realize authentic health, well-being, meaning, and happiness. Community, teachers, and supportive friends are powerful supports as we walk the path of awakening, growth, and transformation. Also, it is up to us to take the necessary steps along the journey.

2. Care for Others

The work of self-discovery and development can be challenging to do alone. Being in a loving community where each member cares for one another's well-being is a true refuge. Showing up and sharing an intentional space to learn and practice with friends is immeasurably beneficial to ourselves and our shared world.

3. Care for Rooted In Mindfulness

RIM is co-created through its community's generosity, goodwill, and appreciation. RIM is a living expression of generosity, and it is 100% community funded and entirely dependent on donations. Donations pay for all operating costs, contribute to teacher livelihood, and maintain its building.

RIM does not charge any "fees," instead, we ask that all members contribute an amount that feels right to them. Tip: When deciding how much to give ongoing financial support, please be mindful of what stirs in your heart, financial ability, and the value the RIM community and the teachings have in your life.

4. Care for our shared Mission and Vision

RIM is a community refuge welcoming individuals and creating mutual support and friendship opportunities. Members of RIM are dedicated to learning and practicing the dharma, meditation, and mindful living. We do this to understand ourselves, others, and the world, to be free from unhealthy and harmful thoughts, words, and actions to realize our shared vision. Our vision is to realize a world where all beings live with Great Wisdom and Great Compassion.
