Jamie (she/her) is a member, meditation facilitator, and Volunteer Coordinator with Rooted in Mindfulness. in the 1980s, Jamie's awareness of mindfulness was sparked when her grandmother provided guided meditations to aid bouts of insomnia.

"Dabbling" over the years with mindfulness and books on Buddhism, in 2014, Jamie embarked on a deeper commitment to meditation and mindfulness practices and continues to learn, grow, and embrace the dharma in ever-evolving ways. Jamie's previous experiences include nonprofit and human service staff and leadership roles, grassroots advocacy, and harm reduction work.

Jamie is currently a Certified Peer Specialist and business owner and an active volunteer with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), bringing her lived experiences with mental illness and past substance use to support others walking their own journeys of recovery and wellness.

She is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, married to a wonderful human, and owned by two cats. Jamie believes we are all worthy and capable of living well and that it is vital to honor where we are at in our lives while also looking to the future through a lens of hope. She enjoys supporting others to build a life of well-being; however that is defined by the individual.
