“The whole cosmos has come together in order to help the flower to manifest.”

-
Thich Nhat Hanh

Everything changes—the seasons, our bodies, relationships, our emotions, and the world around us. What if, rather than resisting change, we practice meeting it with greater presence, curiosity, and care?

Join us for a restorative day of mindfulness in nature exploring impermanence—the art of being fully present with life as it unfolds.

Held on a beautiful working farm in West Bend, this day-long retreat invites us to slow down, step away from the pace of everyday life, and rediscover the simple and profound experience of being present.

Through guided meditation, time in nature, quiet reflection, and conversation, we will practice cultivating awareness, appreciation, releasing, and beginning again.

A special part of our day will be the contemplative practice of Ikebana, a traditional Zen practice of flower arranging. Each participant will receive a vase and have the opportunity to mindfully gather flowers and natural materials from the farm before creating their own arrangement.

We will practice seeing, listening, responding, and allowing. In the changing forms of flowers and branches, we can encounter something of the Dharma itself: beauty, impermanence, connection, and the freedom that comes from meeting things as they are.

No previous experience with meditation or Ikebana is necessary. Simply come prepared to slow down, listen, be present, and welcome joy.

Helpful things to know:

Water, tea, and snacks will be available. A light lunch of Homemade Soup and Bread will be served (vegetarian and GF)

You are welcome to bring any additional food or drinks to support your dietary needs.

The retreat will be held rain or shine. Be prepared to spend the day outdoors, with the option of a covered space. Please bring clothing layers and shoes that will keep you comfortable throughout the day.
